Rich, rustic red-brown tones; a natural lustre; and a fine-textured interwoven or wavy grain are hallmarks of Sapele. The species (Entandrophragma cylindricum) is typically found in tropical Africa and is a cousin – of sorts – of Mahogany. Besides flooring, Sapele wood is used in the production of veneer, furniture, cabinetry, boatbuilding, and musical instruments. Even though the species is considered ‘exotic’, Sapele wood is tough and durable with a full rich color through the entire thickness of the wood. Mirage Sapele is available in Engineered styling, with your choice of 3 5/16th or 5 inch widths; and in a 4 5/16th Lock product. As with all Mirage flooring, the Sapele wood used in the manufacture of the product is sourced from carefully managed forests and is legally harvested in full compliance of the U.S. Lacey Act. We’re proud to be Alberta’s exclusive authorized dealer of Mirage flooring and we hope you’ll stop in to view the entire collection soon!
