There’s been much talk lately about a possible worker shortage as Alberta gears up for another economic upturn. It’s also been noted that a large portion of the current workforce is on the higher end of the age scale, as boomers – one of the largest demographics – close in on retirement. A recent 3 article series in the Edmonton Journal explores the issues of elderly workers and ‘ageism’, from both the employee and employer perspectives.
