Wasting away

On the topic of construction waste, an article posted on May 4th on the Money News Now website examines construction (and demolition) waste in the United States. One not-so-fun fact is that during the construction of a 2,000 sq foot home, “around 8000 lbs of waste is typically thrown into landfills”. The good news is that organizations like the Construction and Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA) are sounding the alarm and are working on solutions. With this new awareness and the conservation approaches that will be created by entities such as the Nasseri School of Building, much less waste will be created as companies begin using redesigned materials and adopt greener methods of construction and disposal.
